THE GOLDEN SHEAF

A heritage-listed Art Deco entertainment institution — the heart of Sydney’s Eastern suburbs.

Originally designed in 1936 by renowned local architects Provost and Ruwald, the Golden Bar has undergone a sensitive restoration, re-establishing its opulent interior and reawakening the grandeur of a bygone era. The cork flooring, arranged in a striking geometric composition, pays homage to the expressive design language of the 1920s and 1930s, echoing the bold tonal contrasts and the rich, luxurious materiality that defined this decadent period.
